Choosing a base
Downtown/Ship Creek: Central for museums, restaurants, tour pick‑ups and the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail access. South Addition/Hillside: Quiet residential area close to parks, trails and with good transit to downtown. Girdwood (for a mountain base): Small resort village 40–45 min south, great if you want nearby skiing or glacier access.
