Four or five days including the Wall

We suggest four or five days for Beijing when a Great Wall outing is part of the trip. The Forbidden City and Summer Palace each deserve substantial time. Keep an arrival day lighter than a full walking-and-monuments schedule.

Give the major complexes separate blocks

Pair the Forbidden City area with a restrained nearby outing, and reserve a separate day or substantial block for the Summer Palace. The Temple of Heaven is another district. A Great Wall trip should include its whole road journey and walking allowance.

Choose metro access and confirm the station

Compare central accommodation by the lines serving your main visits. Beijing’s airports and railway stations are distinct, so verify your arrival point before arranging transport. Check the hotel’s actual street address and the route from the appropriate station exit.

Arrange admissions before the day

Major sites can have advance booking and identification requirements; verify these with the official venue or operator. For the Wall, identify the section and any cable-car inclusions. Different sections involve different travel and walking, even when the product titles look similar.
