Suggested trip lengths and day groupings below are our editorial starting points. Your personalized plan will depend on your interests, pace, and dates.

How much time to allow

Start with seven to ten days for Tbilisi and two regional stays. This guide covers the country of Georgia, not the US state.

Choose a connected route

Choose Kakheti for wine and towns, or a mountain route toward Stepantsminda. Kutaisi and farther western regions create another leg. Mountain approaches need more time than map distance suggests.

Where to base yourself

Change accommodation for longer regional visits rather than making repeated returns to Tbilisi. Compare the precise village and road approach for mountain guesthouses.

Before booking

Confirm current route access, especially in sensitive border areas, and seasonal road conditions. Choose walks suited to your group. For wine experiences, check the included meal, tasting, and return transport.
