Suggested trip lengths and day groupings below are our editorial starting points. Your personalized plan will depend on your interests, pace, and dates.
Three days for a first city stay
Allow three days for Toronto’s central sights, neighborhoods, and waterfront. Add a full day for Niagara rather than counting it as city time. A museum-focused trip or a slower stay with island time may justify another day.
Keep Old Town together
St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District work as an eastern-central outing with time to walk between them. Give the western waterfront and skyline attractions a separate block. Choose a neighborhood food walk that adds different stops to your own market visit.
Compare subway access with your evenings
A downtown base can simplify central sightseeing and rail arrival. Farther-out accommodation can work if the transit route is straightforward. Check the particular station or streetcar connection rather than relying only on a broad downtown label.
Plan boat days around the departure
For island or sightseeing trips, confirm which dock you use and the return arrangement. Do not confuse a harbor cruise with transport that lets you explore ashore. Keep weather-sensitive outings flexible and establish priority museum or viewpoint admissions first.
Browse these experiences as a starting point. The planner considers your interests, pace, and published schedules when building your days.
