Choose your trip length, interests, and pace to build a flexible Orlando itinerary. Add other destinations, compare experiences, and reserve time for travel between stops.
Planning notes by The Travel Insights · Updated 2026-09-10
Suggested trip lengths and day groupings below are our editorial starting points. Your personalized plan will depend on your interests, pace, and dates.
Count park days before choosing trip length
For a first visit, start with one full day per priority park and add a recovery or non-park day. Four to six days can suit a selective trip; seeing more resort parks needs longer. Arrival and departure days should not count as full park days.
Choose a resort area for each day
Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando are separate resort complexes with multiple parks. Identify the exact park before booking tickets or transport. Moving between distant parks can reduce the value of an already busy day.
Choose accommodation after the parks
Compare a resort stay with an off-site base using your actual itinerary. Check shuttle destinations, departure windows, and return options. A hotel advertising a theme-park shuttle may not serve every park or operate when you want to leave.
Compare ticket types carefully
Check valid dates, park access, and any reservation requirements directly. Admission, access to multiple parks, and optional queue products are different features. Include meal breaks and downtime rather than filling an entire park day with additional tours outside the resort.
Browse these experiences as a starting point. The planner considers your interests, pace, and published schedules when building your days.
