Suggested trip lengths and day groupings below are our editorial starting points. Your personalized plan will depend on your interests, pace, and dates.
How much time to allow
Ten to fourteen days allow Lima and a considered Cusco–Sacred Valley visit. Adding the Amazon or another region needs a separate block.
Choose a connected route
Group Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and your Machu Picchu connection coherently. Avoid inserting demanding activities immediately after arrival at altitude.
Where to base yourself
Choose bases according to your confirmed rail, road, and excursion arrangements. A Sacred Valley stay offers a different rhythm from returning to Cusco each evening.
Before booking
Confirm the exact entry circuit and linked transport before booking surrounding days. Altitude and exertion deserve planning; a packed sightseeing timetable is not a substitute for an appropriate adjustment period.
